Badger Region High Performance All-Star Program: Everything You Need to Know

In just a few weeks, Badger Region will host their tryouts for the Wisconsin High Performance (HP) All-Star Program. For 2026, Tryouts will be held March 20th (Boys Only) for 3 age groups: Boys 19U, Boys 17U, & Boys 15U.
Overview of the HP All-Star Program
"The Badger Region HP All-Star program is for elite athletes who want to be considered for a spot on an international volleyball team representing the state of Wisconsin. All participants must be a current Badger Region Members" (Badger Region Volleyball, 2026).
Why Tryout for HP?
"Expose athletes to high-level college (NCAA and NAIA) recruiters who attend the international tournament.
Offer a college-like sports experience where athletes learn what it is like to be an elite-level athlete.
Be a part of independent travel experience led by highly qualified Badger Region staff and HP Coaches.
Gain exposure to elite level coaching provided by the Midwest’s highest level club and college coaches.
Compete and train alongside other all-star caliber athletes from around the Badger Region.
Play against other all-star teams from around the country and the world"

Age Divisions
"Athletes in the following age groups are eligible to try out for a spot in the Badger Region HP All-Star program in 2026.
• U19: Boys born in 2007, 2008 & 2009
• U17: Boys born in 2010 & 2011
• U15: Boys born in 2012 & 2013"

Collect Athlete's Information

This is for the initial Tryout on Friday, March 20th
$40 Online Registration Fee for the initial HP Tryout
2026 Tryout & Training Days Explained
Initial Tryout ($40)
6:00 PM- 8:00 PM - March 20th 2026 at the Baird Center - Milwaukee, WI
This is the day before Badger Region Championships
30 Athletes from each age group will be selected from this tryout to participate in HP Training Days
Training Days ($125)
The 30 athletes selected from the initial tryout are invited to train together on two separate training days as the final rosters are formed for each age group.
Training Day 1: Sunday, May 3 in Sussex, WI
Training Day 2: Saturday May 16 in Sussex, WI
(These dates/times are tentative)
The group of 30 gets narrowed down to the final 12 athletes + 2 Alternates
Offers for the Overnight Camp will be announced after May 11th

Matches are Best 3 out of 5 sets
Max of 2 Matches per day until final day
July 27 - Teams Return
Families - athletes will stay in hotels with their team, will eat meals with their team, and will have several team meetings throughout the tournament. Athletes will not be available for any family time or activities before, during, or after matches while at the tournament. Please consider this as you are booking and planning for the tournament.
For Athletes...
Be Versatile
Athletes who can play multiple positions are ideal candidates for the team
Outside Hitters
OHs are expected to play all the way around
OHs who are strong defenders, solid servers, and who are consistent in serve receive are ideal candidates
Playing Time is NOT Equal
There are limited subs
Earn your time by demonstrating consistent sportsmanship, leadership, skill, and adaptability.

The Badger Region HP All-Star Program is a great opportunity for elite athletes to get a taste of collegiate level play, learn from highly experienced coaches, and represent the state of Wisconsin in an international tournament.
